HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 (2D120AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have just one cable for my portable AOC external monitor which is a USB-C cable.  My new laptop cannot detect it.  The AOC logo comes on initially, then a 'no signal' message, then blank.  Why would this be? Something to do with Windows 11? Fine with the old Windows 10 laptop.  Be grateful for any suggestions.

Your machine is one machine of the following list

           https://support.hp.com/ie-en/product/hp-15-f2000-laptop-pc-series/35900344/model/2100381734/product-...

For example

         https://support.hp.com/ie-en/product/hp-15-f2000-laptop-pc-series/35900344/model/2100381734/document...

It ONLY has 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine
  • Connect to an external monitor with / without hub/dock/adapter

Regards.

Is there nothing I can do to work around this issue, otherwise I will have to return the laptop?  The spec details listed a USB-C port, nowhere did it say that a external monitor would not work with it.

I did post the specs of its sister on my previous reply:

Not all USB-C ports are the same.  If you wish to connect to a second external monitor you can use a DisplayLink Certified USB-A adapter or

                           True Universal Docking Stations

Regards.

Why did you post the specs of it's sister?

I did ask the question, is there any work around with the laptop that I have?

@Emsielou

I did reply the best way to work around, not buying a new machine.

Sorry, can you reiterate, what is the best work around to not replacing the new computer.  I can't see where you have given me any instructions?
