Hi, so my windows hello and camera app, skype and zoom won't show any image from my built in camera on the front. It used to work before. One day it went black and it still is black. The drivers installed are HP Wide vision camera and HP IR camera. The funny part is the white LED next to the camera turns on when I open the apps that need the camera but there is only a black screen. The IR lights don't turn on and when I want to set up windows hello (which was already set up first and gone after the black screen problem arose) it won't work. Please help. All my drivers, softwares and hardware are upto date. It's really painful to use an external camera for work every day and to carry around. I'm tired after 5 months of trying to find a solution and hence I am here now.
Srinath.

Hello @SrinathS,
For now, please check the document here to see if the solution applies to your laptop or not.
Furthermore, a specific model name or product number would be appreciated. E.g. HP Spectre x360 - 13-ap0028ca or 5MT98UA#ABL
Information on how to find a laptop's model name or product number is detailed in this HP document. (Please do not post serial numbers on the HP Support Community. The difference between a product number and a serial number is that the product number contains a # sign)
Kind regards,
Eddy

Same hassles here. Product Name: HP ENVY x360 m6 convertible; Product Number: W2K43UA#ABA
The light is on, but there ain't nobody home!
Camera only shows black. Looked up other HP option for remediation and all have resulted in the same outcome - black screen.
Any pointers will be appreciated.
