HP Spectre x360 convertible 15-df1xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When connecting my Spectre notebook to a second screen via the Spectre USB-C traveldock (HDMI cable between traveldock and second screen), my second screen does NOT get a signal.

However:

(1) when I DIRECTLY connect the second screen with HDMI to the Spectre laptop, the second screen is working fine

(2) when I use the Spectre USB-C traveldock (HDMI between traveldock and second screen) in combination with ANOTHER laptop (Elitebook), the second screen is working fine too.

Evidently I want to be able to use the setup described in the first sentence and the issue is in the laptop, not in the second screen or the dock. How can I get it to work?

Hi Echo_Lake,

I noticed that directly connecting my HP Spectre to my 2nd screen via USB-C (not using the traveldock) doesn't work either. Whereas connecting my HP Spectre to my 2nd screen via HMDI does work, and connecting another HP laptop (Elitebook) to my 2nd screen via USB-C directly or using the USB-C traveldock all works too. Apparently the issue is not in the 2nd screen and neither in the traveldock.

The product nr of my HP Spectre  is 8AQ36EA#ABH

Thanks in advance for your advice!

I recommend you update the BIOS and the docking station firmware from the below link and check if it helps.
