Hi:

There are no BIOS settings to change the memory allocation in your notebook.

6.95 GB out of 8 GB is normal.

Most of the missing 1 GB went to provide additional memory support to the onboard graphics adapter your notebook has.

FYI...to access the BIOS and other preboot menus, you have to turn on the PC, tap the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get the menu of options.

One of those is the F10 setup option that will get you into the BIOS.

I just checked Task Manager and it says 1.1 GB has been reserved.... reserved for what exacgtly???

is it because I am using AMD... I had an HP AIO desktop and I faced the same problem... and was using AMD graphics too....my friend here uses HP Intel Core... I dont see him getting these problems ....

others try the Memory Remap fix and it fixes it...there ain't no Memory Remap in my windows BIOS

I can't tell you exactly.

All I can tell you is what I have already told you...most of the memory went to support the shared graphics memory the AMD graphics uses, and there isn't anything you can do to 'release' the memory for other uses.

And you are comparing apples with oranges when you try to compare Intel and AMD platforms.

They are made differently.
