The connected monitor says no signal, the notebook says  usb c connector is malfunctionaing.   The Hdmi connection display works.

This set up worked fine on previous HP notebook

I can not find its specs but from manual

                https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_9996278_en-US-1.pdf

It has (on page 2)

USB 4 Type-C® Gen4® Thunderbolt™ 4 port, left side, supports:
- DisplayPort 2.1
- HDMI 2.1 out up to 4 K (60 Hz) with HDCP 2.3
- Power delivery
- Data transfer
- HP Sleep & Charge

What is your monitor ? How do you connect them ?

Regards.
