Hi,
I have recently purchased HP Pavilion 14 dv0005ns and connected laptop to external monitor Samsung samsung s24d330H via HDMI Cable. The problem is that from time to time it just loses connection with the monitor. Sometimes after restart, and sometimes after restoring from sleep mode. The monitor is just dont detected and in order for the laptop to detect it you have to unplug and plug again several times until it connects.. making it very annoying
I have tried this monitor and cable with other laptops and it works just fine so I am starting to discard this is something related to cable or monitor.
What caught mi attention is that plugging cables into the laptop is really hard and you have to push quite a lot, maybe because the structure is made of aluminium, I don't know. If you look into the attached picture, you will see that HDMI cable looks like separated away and not well plugged in. I also don't know if this could be the base of the problem.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

Please try a different cable first. You don't need $100 cable but many cheap cables won't give you good results. Please use HDMI version 2 cables.
Regards.

I tried with 2 new cables. HDMI-2 to HDMI-2 Cable and USB-C to HDMI Cable and no luck. After restart or restoring from sleep, monitor is just not detected. Only workaround is to unplug and plug the cable again. I tried with a different monitor and this doesn't happen. So I am starting to thing that this notebook is not compatible with samsung s24d330H monitor. With Benq Zowie monitor I dont have this issue.
Samsung s24d330H is working perfectly with other notebooks.
I have also tried uninstalling / updating drivers, changing refresh rate of monitor, but nothing seems to work..

I am really starting to lose hope around this issue. I knew that HP was known because of its bad quality products but I got caught by its nice aluminium exterior. Silly me. Any other option I could try? Could this be a problem with the mother board or video card?
