Has anyone recently had any issues with their number keys suddenly stop working??? I used the computer a couple days ago and it was fine. Now the numbers only work occasionally on both number pads.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that the number keys do not work on your HP Envy series laptop. I read that the number keys work occasionally on the number pads.

I request you to let me know the exact product model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l and the version of Windows that you're using.

Also, did any hardware changes take place on the laptop?

Meanwhile, let us perform a few steps to isolate and fix the issue:

  • Open the device manager.
  • Expand "keyboards".
  • Right click on the keyboard drivers in it and select uninstall.
  • Restart the laptop. During the restart, the keyboard drivers should automatically get installed.

If the issue persists then let us run a hardware test on the keyboard:

  • Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

  • Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.

  • The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.

  • Select component tests.

  • Please initiate a test on the Keyboard - Quick interactive functional test of the keys on the keyboard. Click Keyboard, then Run once. The Keyboard Test time is 3 minutes.

Hope this information helps. Please keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂
