OMEN Laptop 15-ek0xxx

Product name and number: OMEN Laptop 15-ek0xxx,183H5PA#ACJ

I was supposed to use sketchup and Lumion for my works, it is showing like (SketchUp has detected your computer system has multiple graphics card and is defaulting to an Integrated Intel graphics card, SketchUp will perform better if you change your system to default to the AMD/NVIDIA card).

I had recently installed and reinstalled NVIDIA GEFORCE EXPERIENCE but the NVIDIA control panel is not opening and also it is not detected to my PC. Requesting you to Please solve my problem.

Hi @Uthra_02,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your OMEN Laptop 15 is having trouble recognizing or using your NVIDIA graphics card, which can affect the performance of applications like SketchUp and Lumion. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check for Proper Installation

  • Device Manager: Go to Device Manager (Right-click on Start > Device Manager). Check under "Display adapters" for your NVIDIA graphics card. If it’s missing or has a yellow warning icon, it indicates a problem with the hardware or driver.
  • NVIDIA Drivers: Visit the NVIDIA website to download and install the latest drivers for your specific graphics card model. Ensure you select the correct model and operating system.

Reinstall NVIDIA Drivers

  • Uninstall Existing Drivers: Open Device Manager, right-click on your NVIDIA graphics card (if listed), and choose "Uninstall device." Make sure to check the box to delete the driver software for this device.
  • Install Fresh Drivers: After uninstalling, reboot your laptop and install the latest NVIDIA drivers from the NVIDIA website.

Update or Rollback Drivers

  • Update Drivers: In Device Manager, right-click on your NVIDIA graphics card and select "Update driver" to search for the latest driver updates.
  • Rollback Drivers: If you recently updated your drivers and the issue started afterward, you can try rolling back to the previous driver version from Device Manager.

Check NVIDIA Control Panel

  • Open Control Panel: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. Under the "Processes" tab, check if NVIDIA processes are running.
  • Reinstall NVIDIA Control Panel: Go to the Microsoft Store and reinstall the NVIDIA Control Panel app if it’s not working.

Adjust Graphics Settings

  • Set Preferred GPU: Open the NVIDIA Control Panel (if accessible), go to "Manage 3D settings," and set the preferred graphics processor to your NVIDIA GPU for specific programs or globally.

BIOS/UEFI Settings

  • Check BIOS: Restart your laptop and enter BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2, F10, Esc, or Del during boot). Check if there are any settings related to GPU or graphics that might be affecting the NVIDIA card. Ensure it's enabled.

Windows Updates

  • Update Windows: Ensure your Windows OS is up to date as sometimes updates can resolve driver conflicts.

Software Conflicts

  • Safe Mode: Boot into Safe Mode and see if the NVIDIA card is detected. This can help determine if third-party software is causing conflicts.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
