Omen 15t-dc100
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My omen 15t-dc100 laptop worked great for gaming yesterday. This morning something triggered a BIOS update (not me). Now I have BIOS revision f.15, date 01/30/2020 and the Nvidia card is no longer detected.

When I visit the HP support page for my latop at:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-15-dc100-laptop-pc-series/26122182/model/26122183

I end up at:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-15-dc100-laptop-pc-series/26122182/model/26122183/dr...

And that has the message: "We were unable to find drivers for your product."

I can't run Civ 6 with Direct X11 or 12, maybe I will be more productive today.

This URL works on a Mac after I manually select an OS:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/omen-by-hp-15-dc1000-laptop-pc-series/26122182/mode...

So I return to Omen laptop, download BIOS (F.15 rev A), install, problem remains - Nvidia rtx 2070 not detected.

That URL doesn't list older BIOS. Also, when I go tin BIOS setup and the firmware management section, and then select rollback the only BIOS image available is the current one. So I can't rollback.

Can't install GEForce Experience and the NVidia drivers direct from Nvidia. When I try that I get an error message that no video card is detected.

The solution is described at https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Nvidia-RTX-2070-max-Q-not-connected-c...

"Check all drivers in the device manager. There's a good chance that the BIOS update broke one of them. In my case, it was the "Intel(R) PCIe Controller (x16)- 1901" that went kaput. If there is indeed a broken driver, you'll notice it by a yellow exclamation mark. Uninstall it, then reboot to let Windows automatically reinstall it. That was all it took to fix the problem for me."
