I have an OMEN 15-dc1 gaming laptop and I've been unable to turn off the touchpad while gaming with a mouse. The touchpad is Synaptics SMBus. There is no 'device option' menu for the touchpad in the properties menu. There is a 'disable device' option under the driver menu, but it's not highlighted and can't be used. I have tried multiple things and searched every nook of this computer for a solution but I can't find one. Again, there is no option for this under mouse or touchpad properties/settings. Please, please help.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to disable the touchpad.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you use the Windows feature to disable the touchpad when an external mouse is connected. This will disable the touchpad when you connect an external mouse to the computer.
Here is how it is done.
Open up Windows Settings by clicking the “Start” button, then clicking on the cog wheel. You can also hit Windows+I. Next, click the “Devices” option. On the Devices page, switch to the “Touchpad” category on the left and then disable the “Leave Touchpad on When Mouse is Connected”
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi, thanks for your reply. The settings/devices/touchpad menu only offers one option -- tap sensitivity. It also offers tips and additional settings, but that takes you to the mouse properties, which has no solution.
do you have any other thoughts?
