I recently bought an HP Omnibook 5. It works great. I also purchased an HP USB-C Dock G5. I hooked the keyboard, mouse, speakers, ethernet connection, and monitor to the docking station. Everything worked great. I was very happy.
But unfortunately, the monitor stopped working. It was working great. But it just randomly stopped working this afternoon. I tried a different HDMI cable. I rebooted everything. I unplugged everything. But it still doesn't work. Again, it was working great before today.
When I hook the monitor up directly to the laptop, it also works. But it won't work via the docking station. So why would it suddenly just stop working out of the blue???? Very frustrating. If there is some sort of compatibility problem, why would it work yesterday, but not work today?

-
Test with Internal Ports:
- Connect the monitor directly to your laptop's HDMI or DisplayPort to verify if the issue lies with the docking station.
-
Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Ensure your laptop's BIOS is up to date.
- Update video drivers and USB-C dock firmware.
-
Configure Display Settings:
- Press
fn + f4
to toggle screen output between the internal and external displays. - If you can access the display settings on your laptop, verify that the external monitor is detected and correctly configured.
- Press
-
Power Reset:
- Perform a hard reset on your laptop by turning it off and unplugging all external devices.
- Reconnect the docking station and monitor after a minute, then turn the laptop back on.
-
Docking Station Inspection:
- Disconnect all devices from the docking station and clean the connectors of the dock and the laptop using an air duster.
- Try using different Type-C ports if available on your laptop.
