The right hing has broken. i have had 2 local repair tell me its not repairable unless I replace the lid. Both also say with the new models from HP this is a design fault that they are ignoring. My latop is 18 months old & had i fall when I initially got it. I am rather annoyed that through no fault of my own that this has happened & comes with a healthy cost & time to repair.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand your HP notebook Hinge separating from the unit, in order to fix this issue your computer needs to be repaired.
And, also I did go through the product information page and I'm afraid, there's no recall program available.
I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
