One side of monitor screen is darker than the other side

I have a hp omen 15 dh1xxx and the bottom right corner of the screen has gotten dark compared to the rest after I plugged the laptop in and it began to flicker how would this be fixed? Also how many fps can an external monitor do when connected to the hdmi port?
