Hello HP Support,
I’m writing to report a persistent issue with my HP Envy x360 laptop. Since the day I bought it, I’ve been experiencing screen flickering problems. I’ve already taken the laptop twice to Best Buy for support, but they only reset the system both times, and unfortunately, the problem still continues.
After extensive troubleshooting on my end, I discovered that the screen flickering stops only when I disable the Intel® Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz driver or boot into Safe Mode (where that driver is inactive). This points to the Intel Wi-Fi driver being the source of the problem.
I’ve tried installing older and newer versions of the driver, clean booting, disabling services, and even uninstalling and deleting all associated drivers manually. Nothing has permanently fixed the issue — the screen flickering always returns once the Intel Wi-Fi driver is active again.
This issue has been ongoing since I first started using the laptop, and it seriously affects my ability to use the device. I believe there may be a hardware or firmware-level conflict related to the Intel wireless adapter or its interaction with the integrated graphics.
I kindly ask for a deeper investigation or a proper repair/replacement solution, as resetting Windows or drivers has not solved the problem.
Thank you for your time and support.
Best regards,
Rommel Amador

Hi @Rommel24
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially since you've already tried multiple troubleshooting steps! Since the flickering stops when the Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 driver is disabled, it does seem like a conflict between the wireless adapter and the integrated graphics.
Possible Solutions
Try an Older Intel Wi-Fi Driver
- Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters.
- Right-click Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and select Properties.
- Under Driver, click Roll Back Driver (if available).
- If rollback isn’t an option, manually install an older driver from Intel’s website.
Disable Hardware Acceleration
- Open Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings.
- Toggle Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling off.
- Restart your laptop and check if the flickering persists.
Update Intel Graphics & Wi-Fi Drivers
- Download the latest Intel Graphics and Wi-Fi drivers from Intel’s official site.
- Install them manually and restart your laptop.
Perform a Clean Boot
- Open System Configuration (msconfig).
- Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services and disable non-essential services.
- Restart and test if the flickering stops.

Hello, @Hawks_Eye
Thank you for your reply.
I'm trying option 2, since I've already tried the other options before and nothing happened. However, I can't find the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling option. I went to Settings > Display > Graphics, but I couldn't find the "Change default graphics settings" option, as you can see in the picture.
My HP ENVY x360 laptop is running Windows 11 Home.
Is there another way to find the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling option to turn it off?
kind regards,
Rommel Amador

Hi @Rommel24
It looks like the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling option may not be available on your HP ENVY x360 due to compatibility limitations. This setting only appears if your graphics card supports it and meets the WDDM 2.7 or higher requirement.
Here are a few things you can try:
Check your GPU compatibility
- Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
- Expand Display Adapters and check your GPU model.
- Search online to confirm if your GPU supports Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.
Check for Windows Updates
- Go to Settings → Windows Update and install any pending updates.
- Some users have reported that updates can restore missing settings.
If your GPU doesn’t support this feature, the option won’t appear even after these steps.

Hello,
My GPU does not support Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling.
What should I do next to stop the screen from flickering?
As I mentioned before, the flickering only stops when I disable the Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz driver, which is already up to date.
This issue has been happening since I first started using the laptop. I bought it at a Best Buy in Miami, but I don't live in the U.S. Unfortunately, when I returned a month later, they told me they couldn't exchange the laptop because their store warranty had already expired. They only offered support by resetting the laptop twice, which did not resolve the issue. This has been really frustrating.
However, the HP warranty is still active until 06/19/2025. What can I do next?
Thanks in advance.
kind regards,
Rommel Amador

Hi @Rommel24
I completely understand how frustrating this ongoing screen flickering issue must be, especially since it has persisted since you first started using the laptop. Given that your HP warranty is still active until June 19, 2025, you should be eligible for HP support's repair options.
I'm sending you a private message to guide you on the next steps.
