Today, the color profile of my laptop display suddenly changed. The screen now appears much brighter, colder, and more blue than it normally does. The change is significant enough that looking at the display is causing considerable eye discomfort.
The laptop previously had a much more comfortable and balanced color curve, which I believe was using the original HP factory display calibration or HP color profile. I would like to restore exactly that original HP configuration rather than manually adjusting Windows color temperature, brightness, gamma, or using an arbitrary third-party ICC profile.

Hi @ferhat282,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand that the display on your HP Spectre x360 14-eu0000 (7K634AV) suddenly became much brighter, cooler, and more blue, and that this change is causing eye discomfort. Since you want to restore the original HP display configuration rather than manually adjust the color temperature, gamma, or use an arbitrary ICC profile, it is best to first check whether the HP display settings or Windows color profile has changed.
1. Check HP Display Control
HP Display Control is supported on the Spectre x360 14-eu0xxx series and can control the display's color modes.
- Press Windows + S and search for HP Display Control.
- Open the application if it is installed.
- Check whether the display mode or color setting has changed.
- If an HP/default display mode is available, select it rather than creating a custom profile.
If HP Display Control is missing, reinstall the version provided on the HP support page for your exact 7K634AV product.
2. Check the Windows color profile.
Since you specifically want to restore the original profile, check whether the existing HP/OEM ICC profile is still associated with the display.
- Press Windows + R.
- Type "colorcpl" and press Enter.
- Open the Devices tab.
- Select the built-in laptop display.
- Check the ICC profiles currently associated with it.
- If an HP/OEM profile is listed and was previously being used, make sure it is selected as the default profile.
Do not delete the existing profiles yet. I would also avoid downloading a generic ICC profile from the Internet, because the calibration needs to match the specific OLED panel.
3. Check whether a recent driver or Windows update caused the change
Because the colors changed suddenly, check:
Settings > Windows Update > Update history
Look for a recently installed Intel graphics/display driver or Windows update around the time the color changed.
You can also check:
Device Manager > Display adapters > Intel Graphics > Properties > Driver
Note the driver version and driver date.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi,
Thank you for checking and confirming.
If no HP/OEM ICC profile is listed under Color Management, please don’t download or install a third-party profile, since it may not match the specific OLED panel.
Since your display colors changed suddenly, the next thing I recommend checking is HP Display Control:
- Press Windows + S and search for HP Display Control.
- If it is installed, open it and check whether the display/color mode has changed.
- If it is not installed, please let me know.
Also, please check Settings > Windows Update > Update history and let me know if a graphics/display driver update was installed around the time the color changed.
If you can, please provide your current Intel graphics driver version/date from Device Manager > Display adapters > Intel Graphics > Properties > Driver. This will help determine what changed without resorting to manual color adjustments.
Best regards,
