Yesterday my laptop (it's an HP Spectre x360) was working just fine. Today I turned it on and the screen looks like this - the section on the right is black, towards the middle/right it's red and there is a grey bar across the top that flickers. When I connect it to an external monitor, the display on the external monitor is fine. So the problem is only on the laptop itself. I installed all Windows and optional updates, but the problem remains. I've looked through other post on here but I only see resolutions for issues where the whole display goes black or the whole monitor is flickering ut here the issue is only with part of the display. Unfortunately it's out of warranty, I bought it in 2019. Could this be a hardware issue?

Just so the community can see the update:
My issue was not resolved after the above mentioned steps. I took the laptop to a repair shop and they quoted me $800 for a new LCD screen and $150 for labor for a total of $950. I bought the laptop brand new for $1,000 (it was on sale from $1,250) so it doesn't make sense to spend all that money on a screen when I can buy a new laptop for that price. I am disappointed in HP, I used to be a big fan but this laptop is less than 4 years old and I expected it to last longer given the price for a 13 inch. I also don't have an extra $1,000 laying around so it's certainly causing a financial hardship given that I absolutely need it for work asap. Just really sad about it all around. Hope this kinda thing doesn't happen to someone else!

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

@sandytechy20 Thanks for the update! Hopefully they have more info for me soon as I am in a time crunch with work and if there is ANY possibility that I don't have to spend another $1k on a new laptop, that would be amazing.
