Example: Pavilion dm4-1160us
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The Pavilion dm4-1160us (Win7) has a blank white screen on startup and nothing else happens.  I connected a VGA monitor but there was no display there either.   I took battery out and put back in - no change.  I re-seated memory - no change.  I removed CMOS battery and re-installed it - no change.  Can anyone help?

Thanks for the reply.  The dm4-1160us laptop can now be used with a monitor connected to the VGA port.  No display on laptop screen except for all white screen.  It is a Windows 7 OS, not Win 8 or 10.  I tried to toggle screen output but the laptop screen remains all white, but I do have display on external monitor connected to VGA port.

Perfect! if the computer is working with an external display that confirms the laptop screen is gone bad and needs replacement.

I recommend you contact support and check the available service options for your computer.
