Product: HP Pavilion 13 x360 PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop cannot detect a second screen when I plug a tv into the HDMI. The laptop has been connecting fine to a different tv. The tv is using its HDMI to stream a fire stick absolutely fine too.

1. I have used 3 different HDMI wired

2. I have closed my laptop and reopened when plugged in

3. I have updated the graphics driver

4. I have updated the chip driver as per another help blog

 

I have no idea what to do now.

I see that you've already performed most of the steps.

 

in this case, I would suggest to change the resolution of the display and try to connect.
