HP Laptop PC 15-dw3000 (1A3Y7AV)

Hello everyone,

I am trying to connect two HDMI simultaneously in my HP Laptop PC 15-dw3000 (1A3Y7AV). In this laptop, I have already a HDMI port, which is working perfectly. Then I tried with C port to HDMI converter, where I tried to connect another HDMI display, which did not work at all. Even if I do not use my default HDMI port and try to connect only one HDMI in that C port to HDMI converter, it still does not detect. Earlier I have a VGI cable monitor, so I tried with a USB to VGI converter (plus the usual HDMI monitor), which works but becomes disconnects automatically if I connect two monitors (HDMI and VGI, VGI by using a USB to VGI converter). I have updated all the necessary drivers and everything has been updated.

Could someone please tell me what to do?? I also bought a HDMI splitter, which also did not work at all.

Thank you in advance. Waiting for your response.

What is your 15-dw3000 (1A3Y7AV) machine ? It could be one of the following over 100 machines

                    https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/product-specs/hp-laptop-pc-15-dw3000/model/2100000419

For example :    HP Laptop 15-dw3098ca

It ONLY has 1 hopeless SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

Hello, thank you for your reply and suggestion. The exact machine is: HP 15-dw3209ng Notebook.

Also you provided an example with USB C cable to HDMI, which does not suit in my laptop but works perfectly in other HP laptops which I really did not understand.

The solution you suggested is to use a usb to hdmi converter (displaylink). Earlier I have used a usb to vgi converter, which did work but as I mentioned, after 15 minutes it got disconnected and connected again which is very annoying. I am not sure whether the same will happen with usb to hdmi displaylink converter.

Thank you again and waiting for your reply.

The specs of your machine is

             https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c08159411

It has SAME ports as mentioned on other machine above.  Please note: Not all USB-C ports are the same. USB-VGA is not the same as USB-HDMI with DisplayLink Certified. HDMI (digital) is not the same as VGA (analog), we need a proper converter.

Regards.

Thank you for your suggestion. I am from Germany and in Amazon I could not find any display link certified converters in Amazon. Therefore I ordered this (https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B09KXZFS5Z?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details), which does not suit at all. The second monitor is always blinking and I thought it might be the problem with resolution as the product details shows that it supports 1080P, so I adjusted the resolution of the second monitor to minimum (800*600, 1024*1068) whereas my main display and main HDMI display port in my laptop has a resolution of (1980*1080). I also tried making the second monitor as the main display while my laptop display as the second one, still it does not help either. Plus I have noticed, that in the display settings, the size of the second monitor is smaller in compared with the main monitor (laptop).

Could you please suggest me what to do? Or maybe, if it is possible for you, to show me link of a product which is available at Amazon in Germany? or maybe anywhere, as I searched in internet thoroughly and could not find one. To be honest, this is really frustrating and I am blaming myself not to check that this laptop does not support USB C to HDMI converter.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Waiting for your reply.

UPDATE: Or maybe this one is a Displaylink certified? or the Starlink products are displaylink certified? (https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00O6G5ZGI/ref=syn_sd_onsite_desktop_0?ie=UTF8&pf_rd_p=2628fb3e-bcad-49db-a...)
