Hi all,

I have a problem with with display port.

Setup:

Laptop connected with monitor via dock station (via DiplayPort). I was out of office for 3 weeks. After I came back I face problem with showing picture on monitor. I extended monitors so monitor is primary and laptop screen is secondary monitor.

I try with power off/on monitor, dock station. Also I changed monitor, dock and cables for fresh one, and switch display port input on dock station but no luck. After reinstall video driver picture was present on monitor but when I lock laptop picture disappear. Also I tried to connect monitor directly to laptop via display port and it worked until i reset or lock laptop.

That was last time when picture was present via DisplayPort on monitor.

I google it and on some HP forum there was a suggestion to upgrade uninstall current video driver, reboot, upgrade BIOS, reboot and install fresh video driver and still no luck.

I am currently use VGA to link dock and monitor but I want to find out what happened and fix problem with DisplayPort.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. The last thing I can suggest performing a system factory restore back to the factory settings.

While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,

Thanks for reply on this thread.

Unfortunately I can`t accept system factory restore back to the factory settings as possible solution. I don't even want to try that. That`s to much for problem with display picture on monitor via DisplayPort.

I will continue to use VGA output.

Thank you for your effort for this. I am open for other suggestions.

Best regards
