Necesito ayuda,

Sure, here it goes. It's been a while since I updated my PC to Windows 11, but I couldn't connect an external monitor through the USB-C port, plus Windows Defender was inactive and there were other issues. Yesterday, the monitor I connected through the HDMI port stopped showing video (I've tested it with another PC and the monitor and adapter work fine), in the device manager, I occasionally get an error with the display adapter of the graphics card, I've updated drivers and everything but I can't get it to work. Error: Windows stopped this device because it reported problems. (Code 43)

@benjamora0519, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Code 43 error!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The Code 43 error typically means the system has detected a problem with the GPU (often a driver or hardware communication issue). Since you've already tried updating the drivers and checked the monitor and cable with another PC, here are a few next steps:

Power Reset – Shut down the laptop, unplug all devices (including power), and hold the power button for 15 seconds. Then reboot and see if the HDMI output comes back.

Reinstall GPU Drivers – Use Device Manager to uninstall the display adapter completely, then download and install the latest drivers directly from NVIDIA’s site for your GTX 16-series GPU (not just from Windows Update).

BIOS & Chipset Updates – Visit the HP Drivers page for your model and check if BIOS and chipset updates are available—these can help with hardware detection issues.

System File Check – Run sfc /scannow in Command Prompt (as admin) to detect corrupted system files.

Windows Update – Make sure you’re fully updated (especially for compatibility with Windows 11).

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
