HP Recommended

My HP (EliteBook) laptop had recently undergone a change of hard disk. Since then , my touchpad seems to be lagging, the screen brightness won't change even after changing it from the brightness control settings. My touchpad cannot scroll , I tried following the steps given on the www3.hp.com (it was an answer to similar problem faced by someone) . The keyboard has also been changed in the laptop. Could you please help me with the problems above ?
Also, if you could please let me know how to retrieve my past information, downloads and documents?
