Hi. For past fiew months I have issues with usb adapters. On corner thunderbolt port the usb adapter works only one way and when I plug it the other way windows doesn't give a display output (says that the device isn't active) and constantly gives me popups about device not working properly. I tested with many usb c adapters that some are even thunderbolt certified and every one of those has the same issue. I have disabled usb battery optimization, same with thunderbolt in device manager. I want to highlight that every other usb port works as it should.

Updating drivers can often resolve issues with hardware incompatibility. Here’s how you can update your drivers:
Using Windows Update
- Ensure you are connected to the internet.
- Click on the Start Menu, then select Settings.
- In Settings, select Update & Security.
- Click on Windows Update and select Check for updates.
- Install any available updates and restart your computer if necessary. Repeat this process until it displays "Your device is up to date".
Using HP Support Assistant

- Scroll down to HP Help and Support.
- Select HP Support Assistant.
- In HP Support Assistant, navigate to the Updates section at the bottom of the My devices screen.
- Check for updates and install any that are available.
2. Device Manager
If you suspect a specific adapter or port issue, you can use Device Manager to troubleshoot:
- Right-click on the Start Menu and select Device Manager.
- Locate and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Right-click on each listed device one by one and select Update Driver Software.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
