@snowwhitetao
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
  • Did you make any changes in the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • Have performed a hardware diagnostic test on the keyboard?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Firstly, perform Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8.

Next step, BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer. Once it's done uninstall the Touchpad device,

Next, uninstall HID device:
In Windows, search for and open Device Manager. The touchscreen device is labelled HID-compliant touch screen, or similar. Right-click the touchscreen device and select Uninstall. Restart the computer to reinstall the touchscreen driver automatically after the windows update.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I'm curious if the solution provided by the HP authorized rep solved the problem.  I've tried some of the same recommendations to no avail.  After stopping into a local computer repair store, the tech explained that it sounded like a defective layer in the screen and the whole screen would need to be replaced.  He gave me cheap (free) solution... if you can live without the touchscreen capability, disable it -- it worked, albeit the touch screen feature is no longer a feature!  You can Google "Touchscreen Disable" for step by step directions depending on your operating system.  In a Windows 10 operating system, search for "device manager", select or open the "Human Interface Devices" folder, select "HID-Compliant Touch Screen", then select disable (located near the top menu bar). I think a reboot is required when done.
