I recently purchased an HP Pavilion laptop and 2 HP 27" external monitors. I want to daisy-chain them to my laptop.  The back of the monitors show 2 HDMI ports each, one is labeled HDMI #1 and the HDMI #2.

I want to connect them to the HDMI port of my 'Plugable' (Brand Name) USB 3.0 Docking Station.

I have successfully connected the first monitor to the Docking Station, using the HDMI #1 port on the back of the monitor. How do the cables run from here?

@BYG-Deb
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • For better clarity and to assist you better, are you referring the 2nd HDMI port and cables or setup?
  • Are you trying to use both the HDMI 1 & 2 ports?
  • Have you tried both the HDMI 1 & 2 port functionality by connecting the laptop one by one?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
