Product: HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14m-dh0xxx

Processor: Intel Core i5-8265U CPU 1.60GHz
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64 Bit)

Ever since Windows did an automatic update about a week ago, whenever I watch videos that have dark scenes (mainly black), open photos that are black, or restart my laptop with the black HP screen, there's red horizontal lines only in the center of my screen and ONLY in the center of the screen, nowhere else.

I've checked and updated my drivers, including the graphics, and have started it up in BIOS with restarting and pressing F10 but it does not show up there -- it's a white screen, not a dark one.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a solution? The laptop is less than a year old.

@beautymonster Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are getting Red Horizontal Lines ONLY over black videos/screens.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Have you tested the videos on to a different computer?

As you have stated that you have already updated the Graphics drivers and BIOS.

Please create a new user and check for the issue.

Go to http://hp.care/2dWJKgW  and follow the steps to create a new user account.

If the issue still persists, please perform the system reset and check.

Hello,

I have tested the videos on multiple different screens. It's the laptop.

I have also created a new user account based on the information you gave me through that link. The issue is still there.

I've also done a system reset before posting my question, and the problem has persisted for the past 3+ weeks. The red lines are not only just when watching videos; they show up over any dark/black pictures or screens as well. Any other suggestions?
