@CubAme,

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! This is a great location to get resolutions and interact with experts from the community. As I understand you are having issues with the screen display. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?

Have you tried to connect this monitor to another working PC and check if the issue persists?

Have you tried to connect an alternate monitor on to this PC and check if the issue persists?

Have you also checked If the issue persists in the Bios screen?

While you respond to this post with the details, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the PC

Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:

  1. If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.

    If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.

  2. With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  3. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to boot the computer into the Bios screen and check for the Red dots or Pixels

1. Turn off your computer
2. Make sure you have connected the power cable
3. Turn on your notebook, as it is starting press the  F10 button repeatedly

Once you are in the BIOS, if you see the red dots or pixels, it is likely a hardware failure. The next two steps may resolve the issue. The first one is to do a hard reset. I have included the document 'Performing a Hard Reset or Forced Reset'. The next and final step is to perform a BIOS update. I have included the information here for you 'Updating the BIOS' as well as updating the graphics card drivers from our HP Support website, using this link.

Alternatively, you can connect an alternate Monitor and check if the issue persists, For more assistance, please follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP and Compaq Flat Panel Displays - Display Quality Issues

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

Thank you for taking the time to help me in this matter... I'll start by answering your questions, then I'll tell you what I've done till this point.

You: Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?

Me: No, haven't made any software or harware change, turn off monitor and tower, clean it up, turn it back on and that's when the issue started.

You:  Have you tried to connect this monitor to another working PC and check if the issue persists?

Me: I don't have another PC to test the monitor

You: Have you tried to connect an alternate monitor on to this PC and check if the issue persists?

Me: Unfortunately this is the only monitor I have now, no I haven't try that

You: Have you also checked If the issue persists in the Bios screen?

Me: Yes, follow your instructions in this email and the Bios screen is perfect without red dots

Also I Performed a Hard reset on the PC  with no result (did it twice)... so I then performed the next step you suggested "boot the computer into the Bios screen" and didn't see  any the Red dots or Pixels,  Bios screen looks awesome, like my monitor used to be in the past. :Crying: ... I didn't performed the Bios update because I got scare honestly.

I try updating the graphics card drivers in the graphic card manufacturer website, but received an error message ( pic attached)

Thank you so much for your assistance and enjoy your weekend,

@CubAme,

As you have mentioned in your post, that the screen looks fine in the Bios, then it could be a possible software/driver issue. Let's try to update the graphics card drivers and update the Bios and check if that helps.

Let's uninstall the display drivers from Device manager.

Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand display adapters>then select the display drivers that are listed and right-click on it and uninstall the drivers.

Check the box that states delete the software for this device.

Now once done, restart the computer and then update the Bios, Chipset and graphics card drivers on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.

Once it's done, restart the computer and then check.

Let me know if those steps worked for you.

If they did, that’s awesome!

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!

Good Luck.

@CubAme,

As I understand you are having issues installing the drivers, this is because there are no software driver available for Windows 10. In this scenario, you can try to update the Bios on your PC from the older version of Windows and check if that helps.

Since there are no drivers available for Windows 10, you would need to rely on the generic drivers. If you wish, you could try to revert back to the Original Operating system which was shipped with the PC.
