HP PAVILION GAMING 15-cx0004nb
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We are already three weeks in quarantaine due to covid19.  My son has his own HP laptop for school use and entertainment.

Last week he did connect the laptop in the wrong socket. Result: he tripped over the power cable and the laptop fell down touching with the LCD a corner of his wooden chair. So his LCD-screen is broken and he cannot work any longer for school.

Big problem: my wife needs the home computer for her job and I have a work laptop. He cannot work or join other students when working for school anymore; Next week is a holiday week and after that: new classes start online and he will not be able to follow them.  1 year guarantee is still valid for my laptop but I cannot send it to the company that sold it. I also am not allowed to drive to their technical support unit. It is not allowed during the lockdown that currently is valide until mid-april. And it will be lenghtened after, that's for sure. One solution remains: order an LCD-screen and try to install the new screen myself! I have some experience repairing iPhones and iPads. But a laptop is another story!  Can anyone give me details on how to disassemble the screen or send me pictures or a movie on how to do this? I would be very grateful. Otherwise my kid will not be able to go virtually to his lessons! Thanks in advance!!!

@CAVANA07 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to know how to replace the LCD screen.

The LCD screen is not a user-replaceable part.

I understand your concerns.

I would suggest you contact our phone support and check for the support options.

Here is how you can get in touch with phone support.

1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Or you can contact local stores for parts replacement.

Keep us posted,
