I am not what you'd call a "smart man" when it comes to displays and drivers and whatnot.
I purchased a Samsung 34" ultra wide monitor for work to assist in reviewing multiple PDF's at a time, but my laptop does not give an option for the 3440x1440 resolution.
How on earth to i accomplish this feat?
Thank you

Banhien, as soon as you mentioned the docking station in question, i plugged right into my machine, and now it works perfectly.
It seems the issue was in the docking port.
Plugged directly into the laptop and i have full 3440x1440 resolution now.
Thanks for the help, i really appreciate it.

Sorry that does not help. Please use the following way to find out the model/product of your machine
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108
For YOUR security reason, please do NOT post its Serial number (s/n) on Internet.
Now you are talking a dock what is it ?
Regards.
