I recently got my screen replaced on my laptop. I however noticed that my resolution is not full hd anymore like it once was (1920 x 1080). When I reported this anomaly, the service center (not HP exclusive) professional mentioned that the screen's resolution drops on changing the screen and cannot be brought back to the factory resolution. I now have a doubt whether he is correct or whether has he fitted a full hd screen to my device. Please help me.

Hi:
Below is the link to the product specs for your notebook.
HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab214tx Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support
As you indicated the notebook originally came with a 15.6" diagonal FHD anti-glare LED-backlit (1920 x 1080) display panel.
You can see if the steps in this discussion are of any help, before taking it back to the shop.
Solved: Lower resolution after i replaced my laptop screen - HP Support Community - 5217417
If the resolution cannot be changed any higher than 1366 x 768, I would imagine that the shop replaced it with a 15.6" diagonal HD BrightView WLED-backlit (1366 x 768) display that is used on other 15-ab### notebooks, such as this one.

The shop is giving you 'the business,' as we say here in the United States.
In other words, you are being misled.
Display panels are like leopards.
They can't change their resolution any more than a leopard can change it spots.
They need to replace the display panel with the correct one.
