It seems like the entire right side of my laptop is paralyzed. The WebCam no longer works, whether I have the switch on or off. If I try to use the ports for my microphone, it doesn’t work. the microphone works on the left side, just not the right side. I should note that the ports also work to power an external studio light, but no other pieces of equipment. I have tried multiple fixes, including deinstalling and reinstalling programs, changing devices, updating drivers, and nothing is working. All this while I’m in the middle of a very pressing, time-sensitive project.
What do I do?

@Hannah-K -- unfortunately, I think that your computer's motherboard is "failing".
Note that USB sockets on your computer have two functions:
1. supply power to a device with a USB interface;
2. transmit/receive data to/from a USB device (USB memory-stick, USB keyboard)
So, that lamp is receiving power, but it has no need to "communicate" with your motherboard.
Replacing a motherboard, whether "in" or "out" of warranty, will take a few days -- time that you might not have.
Can you find a local computer store that offers a short-term lease of a computer, to meet your time-sensitive needs?
If your computer is less than 12 months old, the HP Warranty will repair/replace your computer, at HP's expense. But, this will take a while!
