HP Spectre X360 2FW62AV
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My wife's laptop is experiencing the same burn in problem than several others have noted in this forum.  I couldn't figure out how to add to that thread so am starting a new one.  Her HP Spectre X360 was ordered from HP.com on November 23, 2018 and arrived a number of days (not sure how many) thereafter.  This past Satruday 12/14/19, after she had been sick for a week and the machine had been sitting on her desk the entire time (rules out physical damage) she tried to use it.  When she tried to use it that day, a spreadsheet she opened imprinted to the screen and no matter what she did the imprint of the spreadsheet would not go away. All other programs are shown over the top of the burned in spreadsheet.  The screen appears a bit dimmer than it had been but that is probably because of the burned in image.  This is great timing for HP as the warranty expired less than two weeks prior.  I see at least 9 other people have had the same problem, mostly after the warranty expired.   Is it possible to order the extended warranty at this point as there is no evidence of physical damage to the machine at all?

She did ask my why I bought her a $1,600+ laptop if I was going to have to replace it after a year.  I am still trying to come up with a good reason,  so any help with any of my questions would be appreciated.
