Hi All,

The subject kinda says it all really.  When the Intel Virtualization extensions are enabled in the BIOS, the LCD flickers & distorts to the point that the notebook becomes unusable.

All drivers are up to date

Any help appreciated.

Stuart

Hi! @StuartPittwood, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand the screen starts flickering when you enable virtualization in BIOS on your PC.

Don't worry I'd like to help you out.

Did you make any hardware or software changes on your PC?

Is the screen flickering in BIOS?

Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling latest graphics drivers on your PC using HP support assistant.

Use the Windows key + X keyboard shortcut to open the Power User menu and select Device Manager. Click to expand Device adapters.
Right-click the adapter and select Uninstall
Select the Delete the driver software for this device check box.
Click OK to confirm.
Restart your computer.

Hi,

I've not made any hardware changes to the laptop.  The only relevent software changes are usual windows patching, the system is now running Windows 10 1703.

The screen is not flickering in the BIOS, only in the OS.

I've followed your instruction and  reinstalled the latest driver, the system is now running version 21.20.16.4542 of the Intel 620 driver.  Unfortunately the problem is not resolved.

I appreciate your efforts for trying out the steps.

As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.

I would suggest you uninstall the graphics drivers from device manager and install the drivers using Intel auto detect utility.

Refer this article to download Intel auto detect utility.

Hi,

I've tried this, but the intel utitlity is not able to update the driver as it beleives a customized manufacturer driver is already installed (the driver was removed prior to trying the intel update tool)

Thanks, but apart from a PowerDVD (which I don't use) update there are none.
