I bought my laptop last year , it was working perfectly fine until yesterday , After updating windows , my laptop display starts flickering , the frequency of flickering is 3-4 times per minute , I uninstalled the update but it didn't work , the display driver isn't updated so i was not able to revert or do something , I also executed hp hardware diagnostics to check for any hardware issues but laptop hardware is perfectly fine , So, now what can i do fix my screen?

HI, @Aditya2802singh
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.
I see that there is an issue with the laptop screen.
Try these solutions to resolve your laptop’s screen flickering:
1. Update your display driver
Updating your display driver can often resolve flickering issues:
- Boot your PC in Safe Mode
- Open Device Manager, locate your display adapter and uninstall the device
- Restart your PC
- Let Windows automatically install the latest driver, or manually download and install it
2. Check for Windows updates
Ensure your Windows operating system is up-to-date:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security
- Click “Check for updates”
- Install any available updates
3. Adjust the refresh rate
If you’re using an external monitor, try adjusting the screen refresh rate to enhance display stability and resolve flickering issues:
- Right-click on your desktop and select “Display settings”
- Scroll down and click “Advanced display settings”
- Click “Display adapter properties”
- Go to the “Monitor” tab and adjust the refresh rate
4. Disable Windows Desktop Manager
In some cases, disabling Windows Desktop Manager can help:
- Press Windows key + R, type “services.msc” and press Enter
- Find “Desktop Window Manager Session Manager”
- Right-click and select “Stop”
- Set the Startup type to “Disabled”
5. Check for loose connections
If you’re comfortable opening your laptop, check for loose internal connections. If not, it’s best to consult a professional technician.
6. Run the Windows troubleshooter
Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can help identify and troubleshoot screen flickering issues:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot
- Select “Display quality” and run the troubleshooter
7. Perform a clean boot
A clean boot can help identify if a third-party application is causing the issue when the laptop screen starts flickering:
- Press Windows key + R, type “msconfig” and press Enter
- Go to the “Services” tab
- Check “Hide all Microsoft services”
- Click “Disable all”
- Go to the “Startup” tab and click “Open Task Manager”
- Disable all startup items
- Restart your computer
If the flickering stops after a clean boot, gradually re-enable services and startup items to identify the problematic application.
