Envy x2
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

The display on my Envy x2 no longer works, and for reasons I will never understand I would like to replace the screen.  This is first release model which is woefully underpowered with awful audio, but it is such a charming kit.  Thanks for any leads!

@noicon66 Did you connect the laptop to an external monitor to confirm if the display has indeed failed? Or if there's something wrong with the graphics card or the motherboard? could you elaborate on how you concluded the failure?

Meanwhile, in order that I may get details on which part number would be best suited for a replacement display, we'll need the below information:

I sure did try connecting it to a stand alone monitor via HDMI but no connection was found.  I really appreciate you mentioning this however.   I've lost track of the paper work and packaging material so I'm unsure of the exact model number.  This was one of the very first generation models, but I know you guys had lots of variants.  I did return it for service if that helps any on my customer history.  Long story, but Windows update took it to Windows 10 even though  it wasn't really supported it I  guess.  My goal, monitor solution pending, is to restore it to all of its Windows 8 glory until support ends for that.  Really appreciate your interest.

Best regards,

Con

@noicon66 Alright, I appreciate the update, and considering it doesn't work on the alternate monitor either, this may not be an issue with the screen, but the computer itself, here's what I suggest you do, and also, we can't pull up any records using the information you've provided about the previous repairs, however, I appreciate the effort! 🙂

So far I've yet to have any success with your suggestions, but thanks nonetheless.  I scoured my archives and found previous correspondence with .  HP support. It is an HP ENVY x2 11-g010nr model.  For a cost, would HP try and repair this issue?

@noicon66 If none of that worked, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,
