Hello, my laptop screen is stuttering when I do anything, even if nothing is running. I have an FPS counter in the corner of my screen, and every time the screen stutters the FPS counter drops from 144 (normal) to something like 135-143), and I think it's because of frame skipping. The issue is pretty consistent, happening once every few seconds. Every time it happens the screen completely freezes for a few milliseconds, then updates to whatever the screen would be after the freeze finishes. IMPORTANT: it's not really stuttering/microstuttering, but I don't know how to describe it in another way.
ALL of my drivers are COMPLETELY up to date from the official HP, Nvidia, and AMD websites, so that is not the problem (this includes BIOS and the other stuff), and I have also messed around with the settings in the Nvidia and AMD control panel with no solution.
- My laptop is strong enough to do all of the tasks I run on it, like gaming, so it's not a hardware issue either, and I have absolutely no idea how to solve it. The cpu NEVER exceeds 20% usage, and both GPUs work dynamically so the workload isn't too heavy on both, and ram is at around 8gb most of the time (never exceeds 10gb usage). (R7 6800h, 3050ti, 16gb 4800mhz, 512gb SSD, 144hz 1080p display). IMPORTANT: Not a hardware issue because game/application runs very smooth if the stutters were not there, I WOULD be at a consistent 144 fps without this issue.
I've had a few laptops in the past month (all of them broke under warranty because very unlucky), and this exact same issue has followed me with each laptop ONLY IF IT HAS AN NVIDIA DGPU. I think the stuttering problem is related to the Nvidia dgpu because my MSI laptop with a Ryzen processor and Radeon dgpu did not have this problem while both of my Lenovo laptops with Ryzen processors and Nvidia dgpus did have the exact same problem.
Please help me solve this problem, it's very annoying to have the screen lag stutter when doing anything, like watching a YT video. Also, I play a game where even a single frame matters, and missing an input during that frame could lead to failure, so I need this issue desperately solved. Thanks.
