I have a PC17-cp0000 IDS Base Model that I accidentally cracked the screen tossing my phone "next to it" in the dark. When I look up my computer to get a replacement part number, it shows one number and says it is not available. When I take my screen apart, I find a different part number. Any thoughts?

I understand that this is Hardware issue. But the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. However, since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who would have an option to schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.
