Hi Riddle_Decipher & MrRobot, @Riddle_Decipher & @MrRobot

Thank you both for your help so far.

I called the Indonesia helpline, and spent 4 hours talking to them and them going through the same diagnostics that you suggested. Unfortunately nothing made a difference to the colour/screen quality or recovered the touch screen to it's former performance.

They suggested that I take the laptop to a HP repair center.

I'm currently in Singapore so took the machine this morning.  The guy at the counter agreed that the colours are not looking correct, but said that there is nothing they can do as I bought the laptop in the USA and the insides are different AND I wouldn't be covered because HP Singapore isn't the same as HP in other countries.

He also said that even if the screen was repaired, that he wouldn't expect the colour to look different or screen work again as I shouldn't expect that from an HP laptop, that somtimes that's just the way they are.

As you can imagine. I was seething. I don't think this guy is a good representation of HP as a company, as he pretty much said that the laptop I bought is no good.

I left the repair centre feeling very angry and downhearted with how I'd been treated as a customer, and honsetly it took a lot of strength to not rant about my poor experience on all social media channels.

I want to love this HP laptop - in the beginning the touchscreen was perfect, but the colours/brightness have never been good. I just want it to work in the way that I expect and have paid for.  It is barely two months old and the time i'm spending chasing HP about getting it fixed is taking a lot of time.

Please help. What can I do next? Do I need to ship it back to the States to get looked at? Do I just have to admit defeat and buy another laptop? (as suggested by the guy in the repair centre)

Many thanks for your help in advance.
