Hi @SUBHASH1431,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're describing with your HP Laptop PC 15—where one side of the screen is dim and slowly brightens over 2-3 minutes—could be related to several factors.

  • Backlight Issue: The backlight responsible for screen brightness may be malfunctioning. This can cause uneven brightness across the screen. As it warms up, the backlight might start functioning properly.
  • Inverter or Power Supply Issue: If your laptop uses an inverter to power the screen's backlight (common in older LCD screens), a failing inverter could lead to this behavior.
  • Cable Connection: A loose or damaged cable connection between the display and the motherboard could cause inconsistent power delivery, leading to uneven brightness.
  • Display Driver or Software Issue: It's possible that a driver or software glitch is affecting the screen. Updating or reinstalling your display drivers might help.

Steps to troubleshoot:

Update Display Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager > Display adapters, right-click on your graphics driver, and select Update driver.
  • Restart your laptop after updating.

Check Display Settings:

  • Go to Settings > System > Display, and check if adjusting brightness settings manually has any effect.

Test External Display:

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor. If the external display works fine, the issue is likely with the laptop screen or its hardware components.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the laptop, disconnect all peripherals, unplug the charger, and remove the battery if possible. Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds, then restart the laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
