Hi community,
For quite a long time, I'm using an external monitor for duplicating my laptop screen. I do this via the USB-C port.
I firstly bought a cheap connecter for USB-C to HDMI. This worked well, the laptop found the external monitor immediately. Untill one day, this connector broke, because the screen was not duplicated anymore. Or at randomness, one day it worked, the other day it didn't. I thought the connector broke, so I bought a new one from a high-quality brand. This worked only a few days.
Now my laptop does not reply the screen to the external monitor, or somedays it does, but it is just randomness.
I also changed HDMI cables, but the cables were fine. I also tried to disconnect the cables from the monitor in power-off and standby modus.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? Or does some settings need to be changed?
Best,
Kristian

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to duplicate the laptop screen to an external monitor.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hi @The_Fossette
Thanks for the help.
Unfortunately, it didn't work.
I did all the available updates.
I use the Trust USB-C to HDMI converter (#21011), and a standard HDMI cable.
Do you have other options? Maybe software settings?
Best,
Kristian
