I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Do the lines appear every time you power on the laptop or only occasionally?
  • How long do they stay on the screen?
  • Have there been any recent drops, impacts, or repairs?
  • Are you using the laptop on battery or plugged in when it happens?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Update the graphics drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
  2. Perform a hard reset (shut down, unplug, remove battery if possible, then hold the power button for 15 seconds and restart).
  3. Connect to an external monitor to check if the issue shows up there this helps determine if it’s a screen issue or a graphics-related one.
  4. Check the display cable connection  , try to wiggle the laptop screen back and forth slowly and check if there is any change .
  5. Run HP’s hardware diagnostics (usually by pressing Esc or F2/F10 during startup) to rule out hardware faults.
