I have an issue with a 2 yr old Omen 15t. The screen began flickering when I moved the monitor forward and back it would work when it found a position it was happy with. Then it got worse and now suddenly the screen is blank. The external monitor works fine. I took the back cover off and secured some screws and it worked again but only for a few hrs. I am thinking it must be a connector in the LCD panel but it does not look like a serviceable item as I can't see a way to remove the back panel. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,
This looks like a possible hardware failure with the notebook. However, I would suggest you try these steps here:
Have you tried checking with an external monitor does the issue persist?
Does the issue persist on the BIOS page?
If the issue persists on the BIOS page it is a hardware issue with the display.
If the issue does not persist on the BIOS page try updating the graphics, chipset and BIOS on the PC to the latest version.
Uninstall the graphics driver from device manager and install the latest version of BIOS,chipset and graphics drivers on the PC using the HP support assistant.

This clearly indicates a possible failure with the notebook. As you are getting the LCD replaced. Please make sure you check the parts which are compatible with your notebook.
According to the product specifications it shows that your notebook was shipped with 15.6" diagonal UHD IPS UWVA anti-glare WLED-backlit (3840 x 2160) Display.
In order to check the compatibility list, please go through the Maintenance and Service guide. Here you will find the list of parts which are tested and compatible with your notebook.
Chapter 1. Product description for the part - Page number 3.
Chapter 3. Illustrated Parts Catalog - Page number - 24 & 25.
Please note, these are the parts which are tested on your PC, If you wish to try other parts you can try it at your own discretion, HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance.
Alternatively, You could replace the part on your own, use the HP Partsurfer to identify the part: Click here & order it via the HP Parts store (Click here).
Let me know if this helps!
Have a great day ahead!

Hello Jeet,
I replaced the LCD screen myself (pretty easy actually) and is still blank 😞 External monitor still runs fine. I have updated the BIOS and the HP version of the most recent graphics driver. What else can this be? Perhaps the flickering for a few weeks indicate the cable from the motherboard to the LCD is bad? Can I have a link to where I can order that ASAP?
Thank you for your help on this.

Fixed.
Both the LCD and the cable were bad. I replaced both and all is well again. <$130. Both fans also needed replacing as they were grinding.
The correct cable for the 40 pin UHD screen is impossible to find outside of Europe on ebay or amazon but it is available through HP parts surfer. Hope this helps someone else in the future. These gaming machines run dangerously hot and doomed to have problems.
