ENVY x360 Convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought HP ENVY x360 convertible in November 2017. I didn’t use the laptop much then. My usage increased nowadays because of online classes. Just a week ago, I noticed something was wrong with the screen or the display (externally). I think the screen is coming off from the bottom left corner. My laptop is out of warranty. I contacted HP (through phone) and they said the cost would be $600 without even physically checking the laptop. Are you kidding me? It’s your fault, it’s because of your poor and weak design. I paid $1100 and you’re asking for $600 as a repair charge? I have always taken care of this laptop and I have never dropped it or placed anything heavy on it. I never did anything that would result in the screen hinge or something to come out. I'm even scared to open the laptop because it makes sound like its screen is gonna come out. I saw comments online that it’s a common issue with this model.

You provide warranty for one year but what if it breaks after two years? You guys repair or replace laptops that are under warranty but then what about us who are out of warranty? This is really unfair. The exact same issue -if it happens in a year then you get a new one or a free repair, but if it’s just one year and a day then you have to pay $600. We pay $1100 and you guys provide just one year of warranty? This is not done. It is totally unfair. If I had read the reviews of this laptop before then I would have never bought it. HP should make a recall for envy laptops.

I bought this laptop because of its performance. Little did I know that it is prone to repairs (because of its poor design).

I am currently trying to figure out how to go about my Envy too now the bottom left corner is popping out. I have not dropped nor done anything for it to do such a thing. I had an HP for 10+ years that is the reason why I went for another HP but this should not be something we have to pay for when it is a manufacturers fault

DO NOT PURCHASE HP ENVY...... After always purchasing HP and supporting HP’s product for so long I am in absolute disbelief and utter offense that this is how they treat their customers. I’d understand if I was the only one with this issue but I unfortunately am not. This is completely unfair to ask for a customer to spend another $450+ to fix a problem that is directly the manufactures fault. With today’s technology, there really should be no reason a computer should have this issue after 2.5 years. And asking the question “did you purchase an extended warranty” is patronizing and deliberately communicating that you do not care about the client. I trusted the product because I trusted the manufacturer however it is evident that my trust was greatly misplaced. Something needs to be done.

Hi Tej,

I am having a similar issue with my laptop which I purchased last year. Warranty expired, but I have not done any damage to it even accidently.

Usage increased this year due to online classes and work from home.

The panel from the right bottom corner is coming out. Please let me know what needs to be done, paying such a huge amount for repairs for no fault of mine is not ok.

The product that I am using is HP Pavilion x360 convertible 14-cd0xxx

Thanks
