HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15z-ee000 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have HP Envy x360 15z-Ee000 CTO.

With AMD Ryzen 4700U.

The screen goes black for 1 to 2 seconds or screen flickers or screen blinks or winks, even when is under heavy use. This happens on web browsers, word or even notepad. It happens like every 5 minutes or so and happens while laptop is running only on battery. It might be happening with external power plugged-in but the frequency should be very low, compared to battery only.

All drivers are default or whatever is updated by windows. Windows is also up to date.

I opened up the laptop and there was a screen ribbon cable. I pulled it out from where it was attached to the motherboard. I had some kind of cloth electrical tape.

I plugged it back into the motherboard and reapplied the cloth electrical tape little tighter and that has definitely fixed the issue.

There or two ribbons of this kind one on each side, I did the same to both sides, I do not know which one has fixed the issue. But the issue is fixed.
