Product: Hp pavilion dv7
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

It turns on but only the buttons light up. The Screen stays black. I tried plugging it into my tv with hdmi cable and nothing.

This sounds like a possible Hardware issue. I suggest you perform a Power Drain and check if that helps
