As for many others, the screen of my HP ENVY x360 suddenly popped out in the bottom right corner when opening it today. The device is now 1 year and 7 months old, has (given its price tag) been treated carefully, and was always transported in a protective cover. Note that there does not seem to be any damage to the hinge or the display. Further, note that no cracking sound or similar was heard today while opening the laptop today nor while closing it yesterday. While the warranty does not cover accidental damage, this was also clearly not the result of accidental (not intended) damage but the likely based on a design or fabrication issue, as also highlighted by the large number of related reports.

Additionally, and potentially related, since the start I have experienced issues with the microphone which, sometimes, does not pick up sounds. For example, when testing the microphone in the Windows Sound Settings, no sound is detected as the sound level is shown as very low. Note I keep the drivers updated through the Intel Driver & Support Assistant and that the problem seems to occur independently of the software version.
