Pavilion 15-cs3001na Full-HD Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I purchased the HP Pavilion 15-cs3001na Full-HD Laptop last week.

I also purchased 2 x HP 27fw 68.58cm (27") Ultraslim Full-HD IPS Monitors the same day.

The Pavilion comes with NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 (3 GB GDDR5 dedicated).

I want to connect my two additional monitors so that i can use all 3 screens at the same time (1 Laptop screen and 2 Monitor screens). I will be remoting into my work PC and want to extend the display across all 3 screens.

This Laptop has one HDMI and one USB-C port only. I have checked with HP and they confirmed the USB-C port should be capable of displaying video (not just a data port).

I purschased a HDMI splitter to connect both montiors. Did not work.

I purchased a Syntech USB-C to HDMI converter. Did not work.

I would really appreciate if someone could help me to connect both monitors to my laptop. Eveything is brand new so I would expect it all to have the latest configurations etc.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

The specs of the machine is

The USB-C to HDMI won't work because USB-C port does not have Alt mode (from its specs above). It has  USB type-A port therefore USB-A dock is an option.

If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors, please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few options on market today including some HP products:

or try following HP docks

Thank you very much! I will try this.

Just for my understanding:

1) It said this on the Laptop model:

''USB-C™ USB-C™ Power your device or connect to an external display from just one USB-C™ port with 5 Gb/s signaling rate. And it's reversible, so you never have to worry about plugging in upside down.''

https://www8.hp.com/h20195/V2/GetPDF.aspx/c06455245

Is this conflicting information?

2) From the DisplayLink website you gave me, I cannot find a Dock that has 2 HDMI ports. Both my monitors have HDMI ports and hence I already have 2 HDMI cables. Would you be able to recommend a model for me?

3) To connect the laptop to the Dock, would you recommend using USB-A or HDMI? I don't want to over complicate this but just want to make sure when I purchase the Dock I get all the relevant wires I need.

Many Thanks
