Hi @Pastorwm,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Changing pop-ups on an HP Pavilion laptop typically involves adjusting the settings related to notifications and pop-up windows in the operating system. The steps to do this might vary slightly depending on the version of the Windows or other operating system you have installed. Below, I'll provide a general guide for adjusting pop-up settings in Windows 10, which is a common OS for HP Pavilion laptops.

  • Open Settings: Click on the "Start" button (Windows logo) in the bottom-left corner of your screen, then click on the gear-shaped icon to open "Settings."
  • Go to System Settings: In the Settings window, select the "System" option.
  • Notifications & actions: In the left-hand side panel of the System settings, click on "Notifications & actions."
  • Manage Notifications: In this section, you can control the notifications and pop-ups for different apps and system settings. Scroll down to see the list of apps that can show notifications.
  • Turn Off/On Notifications: To disable pop-ups from a specific app, locate the app on the list and toggle off the switch next to it. If you want to enable notifications again, simply toggle the switch back on.
  • Focus Assist: Windows 10 has a feature called "Focus Assist" (previously known as "Quiet Hours"), which allows you to disable notifications temporarily or customize how you receive them. You can access this by clicking "Focus assist settings" or searching for "Focus assist" in the Start menu.
  • Adjusting Browser Pop-ups: If you're specifically concerned about pop-ups while using a web browser, such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, you can control them within the browser settings. Usually, browsers have options to block pop-ups entirely or allow them only from specific websites.

Remember that different applications and browsers may have their own settings for notifications and pop-ups, so if you're encountering pop-ups while using specific software, you might want to check the settings within that program.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
