Can't get a picture from TV using HDMI.  Sound is fine, but no picture, and in the display settings it dousn't show a second screen,  Have tried updating the drivers in Device Manager but still nothing.  Not the HDMI cable as it works from iPad.  Read somewhere that Bios might need updating but don't know whether it's this (or how to fix).

@sicla41, welcome to the forum.

You should type into the Search box in the lower left corner the following:  "Project to a second screen".  A menu will appear on the right side of your monitor showing "PC screen only", "Duplicate", "Extend" or "Second screen only".  I normally choose "Extend" when I connect to my TV and my notebooks screen appears on the TV.

Note: You can also press "Windows key" + P to get the menu.

I tried that (both options in fact) but neither worked

Thank you for the additional information, @sicla41.

You should go into the Menu for your TV and set the input to PC, if you haven't done so.

For future reference, you should always provide the model or product number of the computer and it would help to have the make/model of the TV, as well.
