HP - Spectre x360 2-in-1 13.5" Touchscreen Laptop - Intel Evo Platform - Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 1TB SSD + 32GB Intel Optane - Nightfall Black

 

I have owned this laptop for about 7 months and it's not even fully paid for. I contacted customer service via chat and explained there was a crack on the screen coming from the hinge up, screen work fine but touch screen option doesn't. Closed the screen one night and next morning crack was there  with no physical damage. Looks like hinge was maybe over tight? Agent was very nice said this could be taken care of and set up for it to be sent in for repair. Today I just got an email that to fix it I have to pay $539.99. I did not physically damage and like I said Agent said it be taken care of. Is there anything that can be done covered under warranty? Again I did not damage the screen this looks to be a defect.
